Sometimes winning isn't always a prize, or money or more about prestige or just saying "I can do it!" I love to write and I like entering contests to keep my mind active and "in the frame of writing".

Many of you know I had my cover art for BUZZ entered into a contest on http://www.talauthor.com/ for best illustrator. I asked that you cast a vote only if you thought I deserved to win and my art work was the better one. I wanted to win on my own merit and not because of some popularity contest. Well...I am proud to say I did win and here is my award. I sincerely want to thank everyone for their votes and for your support! I have another cover entered in this month's contest. And I love you so

This is a poem I wrote for someone who means the world to me and whom I love dearly. It won the Editor's Choice award . He knows who he is.

And I Love You....

I can't escape from thoughts of you,
Every waking moment you are there with me,
In every breath I take
Every thought...
Every memory past and present.

I love you so much
My heart is filled with so much joy and emotion.
I just want to be near you,close to you.
Talking to you, touching you, smelling you, embracing you...
Just being near to you.

This is truly the way love is supposed to be,
I have waited a long time for this day,
And you are finally here.
You are now forever in my mind and in my heart
And I love you so...

Editor's Choice Award for "MY DAUGHTER"

This is a poem I wrote for my daughter recently. It was done on the spur of the moment without much thought. I got a surprise when I came home and found out it was going to be published and then again recently when it was picked as the Editor's Choice award.

My belly is growing,
I feel you moving inside of me.
I can hardly contain myself knowing,
that soon you will be here.
I have dreamed about this moment all my life.
Now I am holding you in my arms.
Dark brown hair.
Your little fingers and toes.
I stare at you in disbelief.
A moment in time that I will never forget.
Precious and truly a gift from God.
My daughter,

Yes...I can hardly believe…
my dreams have been answered.
I am a Mom....Your Mom.
I will love you forever!

Ahhh…to feel life

INSIDE,

Moving,

Hearing the heartbeat again for the very first time,

Knowing we have helped to create this little being,

This tiny little baby that we want so very much.

Just one more time Dear Lord,

Please bless us with a miracle,

Please bless us with our little seed that will grow into a beautiful baby,

One that we can hold in our arms,

One that we can nurture and share our love with,

Please Dear Lord…Just one more time.
