I thought it would be fun to share with you how the concept of The Super Heroe's Save Christmas came to light. Like most author's we base our stories on people we have met or on events in our lives...and I am no different. I have a lovely daughter named Francessca,a cute nephew and niece named Gage and Ivy and a pup named Scooby...no no...actually it's Buddy (aka.Buddy Overbite),and then there's Chloe...Gage's friend.

In 2006, I was going through some rough times and couldn't afford to buy gifts so I decided to make presents for the kids and my daughter came up with the brilliant idea of making them a book.We had been up to Check,Virginia visiting my nephew and his family and that's where the whole Super Hero idea came about. The kids were playing and running back and forth playing Super Heroes. So the parents gave each kid a name and viola! the Super Heroes were born.We had Gage as Super Gage,Chloe as Cosmic Chloe,Francessca as Fantastic Franny,Buddy as Buddy Overbite and Ivy was just a little baby so she was not playing at all.Buddy got his name because he is a lhasa apso and if you are familiar with these dogs they have protruding teeth and he has these teeth that hang over out of his mouth. It looks like he needs braces. It's really funny and the kids are always joking about it. Poor Bud-Bud!

The book was a huge hit.The kids loved it. Gage was taking it to school all the time for show and tell.They even made copies of it for the kids at school because they were always asking Gage to bring it in.I couldn't get the book out of my mind as well. I knew I had something too. So I got a copy of my story back from my nephew's family...improved upon it and made it more professional looking.When I got it up to par I submitted it and the rest is history as they say.

This is the real life "Grandma Donna and Francessca, aka:Baby Duck."I got the idea for "Baby Duck Gets a New Grandma" from them. My daughter had a very difficult time at first accepting her new Grandma but it wasn't because she didn't like her new Grandma it was just because she was angry at accepting someone new into her life. She loved my Mom very much and we were all missing ehr very much. So when Donna came into my Dad's life it wasn't easy for Francessca to adjust to loving someone new. I wrote this book in hopes of possibly helping other children realize they too can love someone new,as well as remember the love they had and that there is always enough love to go around.

It's true that time and love heals all wounds. Now my daughter is old enough to understand and she is very happy. She has the relationship she has always wanted and her new Grandma loves her very much too....just like the story says!

Every child should be soo lucky to have such a geat friend and a new Grandma in her life as Donna!!

Yes...Grandparents are definitely a blessing!
